The kick-off meeting of the Horizon 2020 project GreenSCENT (GA 101036480) took place online last month on the 2, 3, and 4 of February 2022.

The project, GreenScent – Smart Citizen Education for a Green Future – aims to change citizens’ behaviours allowing them to be the ones who act to implement the policies of the European Commission in the context of the Green Deal.

Through the development of pedagogical projects, accessible apps/web applications, competence frameworks, and community engagement, GreenScent the Green Deal’s aim of carbon neutrality by 2050. 

The project will last for 36 months and it includes 15 partners.

4sfera will lead the air quality demonstration: Cleanair@schools. This citizen science initiative empowers schools to monitor air quality in and around the schools (WP4, WP5).

The team specialised in the application of air quality monitoring in citizen science projects will lead the demonstration and will have close collaboration with other partners in dissemination and clustering activities in WP6. Close collaboration with Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) will be key in ensuring the usability and accessibility of the demonstration (and the provided material)

The team will assist experts from Barcelona Supercomputer Centre (BSC) in the development of an Augmented Reality App.

Moreover, 4sfera will also participate in the project as subject matter expert the Green Deal topics such as Zero-pollution and toxic-free environments” and “Sustainable and smart mobility” for the creation of the GreenCompetence Framework (WP1).
