INFORMATION TECHNOLOGIES (IT) AND COMMUNICATION
Our services include the development of mobile applications, thematic websites, and the design, development, and maintenance of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) applications.
These services work together to ensure seamless data management and provide innovative solutions tailored to our clients’ needs.
Mobile Application Development
4sfera has developed various easy and intuitive information systems to provide air quality information to the public and notify sensitive receptors about pollution levels. Smartphone technology offers new possibilities, expanding horizons and enabling a more localized and direct connection with users.
We offer an optimised solution through efficient knowledge management and the innovative application of state-of-the-art information technologies.
Més informació
We know the current needs and requirements for reporting air pollutant information. This must be provided to the public and relevant organisations, such as environmental groups, consumer organizations, representatives of sensitive populations, and other health-related entities. With our expertise in the field, we are committed to offering effective solutions.
Mobile applications (Apps) make environmental information more accessible by providing a user-friendly and intuitive way to deliver air quality updates. These apps use direct and personalised communication methods, optimising the way air quality information is shared.
From a user perspective, mobile apps can provide:
- Real-time air quality information based on geolocation
- Social media sharing for increased awareness
- Customized notifications according to user preferences
For administrators (clients), the service helps to:
- Deliver air quality information to citizens
- Distribute pollution alerts efficiently
- Gain better insights into user interactions and data access
- Optimize information requirements
Each application is custom-developed according to client needs, but key features may include:
- Live air quality maps
- Pollution forecast maps
- Personalized notifications
- Station summary lists
- User notification services
- Social media integration
- General air quality information, including main pollutants, monitoring networks, etc.
The system is designed in a modular way, allowing for easy expansion of functionalities in future versions. Additionally, the design can be adapted to match the client’s style and requirements.

Development of Thematic Websites
A crucial aspect of environmental work is the dissemination of both technical and public information to ensure transparency and awareness.
At 4sfera, we have developed and currently manage the official air quality websites for different Governments. These platforms provide real-time and historical air quality data and detailed information on monitoring networks, helping authorities and the public stay informed. Alert messages are automatically broadcasted when episodes of key pollutants occur.
Leveraging the power of social media, 4sfera has also created dedicated channels for the Government of Andorra on social media, ensuring that air quality updates reach a wider audience efficiently and effectively.
ETL Application Development and Maintenance
In the environmental field, efficient and timely data exchange is crucial. 4sfera develops and maintains tools to assist with data management and transformation.
Since the application of Decision 2011/850/EU, we have developed several ETL tools at both the European and national levels to accommodate new data exchange mechanisms (some according to INSPIRE standards). 4sfera has managed and supported the implementation of a new e-Reporting system to report air quality data in compliance with the Decision. A notable example is the development work carried out with the Government of Luxembourg.
In collaboration with NILU, 4sfera has developed a tool used by the Western Balkan countries and some ENI region countries like Georgia and Ukraine to manage, validate, and report air quality data, both in near real-time and historical data.
